Just want to warn you right now: there is no point to this story. But you know how life is, right? Big things happen, small things happen. You gotta live in the moment in order to catch any of it.
So after work last Friday afternoon Kent and I went fishing at third dam in Logan Canyon. We caught no fish but it was a nice way to spend the afternoon. We're packing up our stuff and a couple of ethnic guys come along. They wanted to know if we had cell phones that got a cell. No, we told them. They began talking about how they have been in the canyon, hiking around the mountains since 10:30 that morning. They underestimated how long it would take and they just needed to get back to first dam (about 4-5 miles back up the canyon). So we offered them a ride. As we rode along, we learned that one was from Iran, the other from Vietnam. We mentioned that we had grown up in Michigan. As it turned out, they were both trying to get into Pharmacy school, looking at Wayne State in Detroit, and both had worked as pharmacy technicians! Then we were back at first dam. Story over. They thanked us for the ride, thanked us profusely. "God bless you thank you so much!" That sort of thing.
I told you there was no point.
